LeAnna was born in Misawa, Japan while her two military parents were stationed there. She comes from a long line of military Veterans spanning all services including her mother, father, uncles, aunts, cousins, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers.  She joined the VFW Auxiliary in 2014 as a life member under the eligibility of her mother, Paula Jansen, who retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years. LeAnna has dedicated thousands of hours supporting the VFW, its Auxiliary, and Pageantry across San Diego.  LeAnna works as an Assistant Management Analyst for the Special Events Unit of the SDPD. She holds two associate degrees, a Bachelor of Arts in business management, and is completing graduate studies to receive her MBA with an emphasis in Organizational Management. When she isn’t volunteering in her community, she enjoys crafts, crime shows, and spending time with her boyfriend Jay, their daughters Kea and Peyton, and her dogs Athena, Persephone, and Hera.
