A Life time member of Auxiliary 5867, Diana received her eligibility through her father, William Rude, a WWII Navy Veteran but is also eligible through her husband Tom, a retired Navy Veteran also a Life time  member of Post 5867.

My experience as a member of  the VFW Auxiliary includes serving in various officer and Chairmen positions for Auxiliary 5867 including President for the 2022-2023 year. I have served as a Department of California Program Chairman for the Scholarship, Mentoring for Leadership, Youth Activities and Auxiliary Community Outreach Programs. For the District I have served as a  Program Chairman in numerous programs and am currently the District 1 Auxiliary  Senior Vice President for the 2022 - 2023 year. It was an honor to be selected as the VFW State Teacher of  the Year in 2015. After 35 years of teaching,  I am enjoying retirement with my family including 3 dogs and a menagerie of other animals, gardening, and an occasional round of golf.
